Mondays 9am Puppet Arts In this four week class Milo will lead students in making puppets, creating stories, building a mini puppet theater and putting on a puppet show. Comes with fun art box to make all.
Mondays 10 am Ready Set DRAW Danielle will lead our group in weekly drawing prompts. Comes with box of supplies to experiment with all sorts of drawing techniques.
Mondays 11am Origami, Sculpey and Sketch Rachel will lead our group in a fun origami, sculpey and sketching classes. Comes with origami paper, sculpey and sketching materials.
Tuesdays 9am Character drawing and writing Milo returns with more character building! In this class students will develop stories and draw characters of their own. Comes with drawing materials, a sketchbook and character building sheets.
Tuesdays 10 am Plant, Paint and Draw Danielle is back with more planting fun! Comes with planters, paint, drawing supplies, seeds and soil
Wednesdays 9am PAINT create your own canvas while learning about color and design. Comes with canvas and paint
Wednesdays 10am Pokemon Art Create your own Pokemon characters, build environments , create simple animation and have general POKEMON FUN! Comes with a mixed media box filled with supplies to create all sorts of Pokemon arts.
Thursdays 9 am CREATE mixed media canvas art and diorama. In this class students will make mixed media creations of their own using paint, magazines, beads, words and more. Comes with canvas, paint and mixed media materials. Box may be used for diorama
Friday 9am Mix It Up! In this class students will create all sorts of concoctions, slime and science experiments with Milo! Comes with a project box for all you need to Mix it UP!

Plant! Draw! Print! Be a Horticulturist!
M-F 1-4
In this class students will draw, print and plant.
Learn about different kinds of plants as we print leaves, press flowers, grow and document our own plantings and more. We are hand delivering art boxes this week containing terrarium supplies, planting and painting supplies and notebooks.
$300 for the week or $70 per day

AWA Art boxes delivered contact free!
We have a mixed media box including sculpey , terrarium, light up lanterns and tie dye! More to come :). I’ve been walking all over Brookline delivering and even made an excursion to Needham this week. We also created boxes for a birthday party- a super idea! Boxes are $25 including delivery except for light up lantern which includes water colors and an LED light- that one is $30. Here are our succulents waiting for their homes :).

The week ahead Week of June 22nd
Hello all!
We start the summer off this coming week with "Storytelling". M-F 1-4.
Students will have the opportunity to develop characters and a story line. Expect fun theater exercises, short animated movies and studying characters throughout comics history. $300 for the full week or $70 per day. (By the way, if you'd like to do this class but feel these are too many hours please reach out and we'll find a solution that works for your child.) Taught by Milo on Zoom!
Tuesdays evenings at 4:30 We have a journaling class for adults and teens. Meeting 40 minutes on Zoom taught by Rachel Bird. $100 for 4 classes.

The official first week of summer programming starts with a bang! We've got Milo in the house - well, via Zoom. Join us for an intensive "draw your own characters" class M-F 1-4 for the week of June 22.
In this class students have the opportunity to develop characters and a story line. Expect fun theater exercises, short animated movies and studying characters throughout comics history. $300 for the full week or $70 per day. if you'd like to do this class but feel these many hours is too much please reach out and we'll find a solution that works for your child.

Last week of June- August morning classes Monday through Friday 9-12
The mornings will be broken up into three workshops daily. We will relax and hang out together between each one. Expect drawing class, animation, painting, journaling, building, character writing and drawing, pokemon art, art history and more.

Afternoon Art Class 1- 4:00

We will also look at and talk about different artists taking trips to museums around the world through virtual tours.
July 27: Be a City Planner In this class students will design and map out cities, building with materials found around the house. This year we will be doing plenty of online touring around cities via google maps.
August 3: Animation class In this class students will make flip books, thaumatropes, puppets, make lots of drawings and create their own short stop motion animation. We will talk about the history of animation and watch some wonderful shorts together.
August 10: Art with Amy- A week of art projects, art history, sketching, visits to virtual museums and all the fun stuff we always do.
August 24: Book Arts - Learn to make all sorts of home made books and fill them with collages and drawings.
August 31: Mixed Media Explorations- Paint, draw and build all with common household items. Personal mixed media art box available for home us.

Hello all,
There has been no word on the safety of running AWA live and in the studio, so for now our plan is to run a dynamic, fun, creative online studio.
Here's what we've got!
Last week of June- August
Morning classes M-F 9-12

Hello AWA community,
I am pleased that I was able to get AWA running online pretty much immediately as the current crisis hit. It's been great to see that the true spirit of the studio lives- and quite healthily- online!
During these uncertain times I am hoping to keep our actual studio alive and here for all of us when we are Corona-virus free! Looking forward to in-person art classes, parties and supporting local artists with our First Friday events.
As it stands now although there are no clear answers on physically opening up, in the meantime I do need to continue paying rent on the studio.

Hands-on art history fun. Painting, drawing and building of all sorts
4:30- Rachel Bird's journaling sketchbook class
$80 for 4 classes. First class meets May 12th. We have a mix of adults and children who have signed on for this one.
Not quite a sketchbook and not quite a scrapbook, art journaling is a creative way to experiment with different art media and explore new techniques with low stakes! In this class, students will learn how to build layered art journal pages with fun techniques including bubble painting, image transfer, crayon resist, and more. Because art journaling is so versatile, you can use any supplies you currently have at home—no need to leave quarantine for a trip to the art store! Even the most basic office supplies can be transformed into an art journal.
Wednesday
12:00-12:40 Character writing and drawing with Milo $20
Students have been developing their own characters, creating story boards and comics. Lots of writing and drawing!
4:00- 4:40 Family Music with Seth (pay what you will)
Join us in singing and dancing fun. Some original music, some classics and some spur of the moment inspired singing... Last time around adults and children joined on bringing along a ukele, a flute and a piano. Good vibes all around!
Thursday

Travel the world and sketch with Rachel
Hi all!
Rachel’s google maps drawing class was wonderful today. Students travelled to Paris, Hawaii and Peru. Sketching all the way. We've decided to do this again next Tuesday April 28th 12-12;40. Let me know if you'd like to join the fun. $15 per student.

We continue to make lots of all sorts of art! Here's a quick list of what's happening:
11 am Art Meet Up
Open to all. We've settled into a fun schedule of morning meet ups filled with art assignments and conversations. No need to sign on. The Zoom link is on the Art with Amy web site artwithamy.com . Or feel free to email artwithamystudio@gmail.com for details. This one is a 40 minute class. Pay what you will via Venmo. Recent projects have included designing houses, drawing dreams and creating fantasy botanical drawings.
2:30 pm Art Class
These are regular weekly art classes. We meet for 80 minutes making all sorts of art together including painting, drawing and building projects. In the true spirit of Art with Amy, students will often pursue their own creativity while I follow, guide and support. We check out art history, watch short movies and make art. We also do group projects and these days kids seem to love homework assignments. Please email for availability and pricing.

Hands-on one-hour art history classes meeting on either Tuesdays at 1 or Thursdays at 1. Emphasis on fun.

Students will travel around an area using google maps and their sketchbooks as we recreate scenes and draw together.
This one is inspired by artist Mishka Henna who has been doing exactly this.

We have more 40 minute workshops in the works including touring museums worldwide with your sketchbook in hand, zine workshop (folding, drawing, collage ), origami, and make your own diorama. Stay tuned for details.

Pokemon meet up at 5 today!
Pokémon meet up Monday at 5!
Join us to draw and voice your Pokemon concerns and annoyances!
Pokémon is a vast world filled with many cool creatures!! At this point there are probably over a 1,000 Pokémon! More than enough to draw for what is called the 100 day challenge where students draw the same subject matter for 100 days! Our fearless Danielle will lead the group in 40 minutes of Pokemon conversation and art.
