December vacation art!
Lots going on during school vacation in a few weeks. Our plan is for:
8:30-2:30 days on Dec. 23, 24, 26 and 27
We just added on Dec 30th and 31st!
Heavy hitters Liana, Milo and Rachel return to the studio with sculpey creations, miniature explorations, fashion design, natural cloth dyeing and city planning building projects. I will be on hand for canvas painting, drawing and general art fun.
There's some talk about Flip Book Friday..this one is in the works.
These will be sign on by the day at $105 per day and $400 for all four.

Half days and December vacation!
Looks like the December 5th slime half day workshop is filled. If your child wants to slime please email as things do seem to move around a bit. THINKING AHEAD we have space on the last half day workshop on Wednesday December 11th. This one is mixed media on canvas. Paint, image transfer, collage and pizza!

AWA this week! Wednesday half day/Brookline First Light/ Original Art sale continues
*This Wednesday November 20th is another Brookline school half day!
We will be running a building workshop using cardboard, boxes and all sorts of recyclables. Students will be creating their own sculptures.
Workshop runs 12:40-2:30 with pick up at Pierce. $50 including pizza!
We have a couple of spaces remaining in this one.
*Thursday Evening November 21st 5-8: Brookline First Light - Join us for an evening of zine making!
Make a zine (tiny book)! Collage and draw! This one is truly for all ages. If you haven't been to the studio this is a great time check us out. Our Monday morning music teacher Seth Hanson will be in the studio with his guitar on the earlier side. Seth is an original and engaging performer. Please come by and see for yourself :).
*Instrument Workshop/Sing-Along with Seth! 9-10 Music Class begins January 6th 2020!
In this class students will learn about all sorts of alternative music making instruments sometimes creating their own as well as weekly sing-alongs with dancing.
*We are approaching gift giving season & the studio is filled with Original Art! Paintings, Jewelry, Prints and Drawings - all reasonably priced with a percentage going to World Central Kitchen. Feel free to reach out and set up an appointment to look.
*Our next First Friday will actually be on the second Friday this month (December 13th).

Also putting together Summer 2020. Saori Worcester will be back with more weaving fun and expect a Revere Beach sand sculptures field trip, the water fountains by the Mary Baker Eddy Library, City Planner week, Miniatures, and more!

Our October First Friday exhibit from is still hanging in the studio. We have paintings, drawings and prints. Also beautiful handmade jewelry, cards, stickers and tiny kid's paintings. Monday morning art and music class with Iris and Seth!
Excited to have well loved local hero Iris Alpert in the studio teaching this round of fun art along with local musician Seth Hanson joining us in the studio for the first time! This is a parent/child class with lots of painting, drawing and building AND making music <3
Expect to create your own instruments, make paintings, build, keep sketchbooks, sing, dance and more!

Woven Within: a meditation/weaving class
October 6th 10-12:30
This class is for teens and adults taught by local fiber artist Stacey Piwinski. Each participant will learn to weave their own circular weaving, starting from the center and radiating out to one another. A short guided meditation will allow us to go within. A relaxing work-time will allow us to slow down, work with our hands, and connect to each other.
Tuition: $70 plus $10 materials fee

Local painter Anne Pfaff is organizing a painting/drawing class for adults. Would you like to learn or continue your practice?
Thursday night Open Workshop returns soon: This is basically an Art with Amy evening for adults and teens. Full access to our mixed media bin, glue gun and all the fun stuff the kids love. This one is for all of you who keep saying they wish they could explore and make stuff like the kids :).
Some spaces are open in some after school classes. These spaces are for children in grades 4-9.

"Woven Within" A fiber arts workshop for teens and adults Sunday Sept 22nd taught by Stacey Piwinski. Stacey is a local artist showing and teaching art in and around Boston.

2-6 Hands-on ART HISTORY Class!
Each afternoon students will learn about a different art movement in history and make art inspired by these movements. We’ll be working with plaster, canvas painting, clay and more. We'll also be taking a field trip to the MFA for sketching and inspiration. Just a couple of spaces left.

Miniatures! This is a week of all things tiny!
Make dioramas, terrariums, tiny paintings and sculptures. We’ll take a look at the tiny house movement as well as other artists in history who have worked tiny.

There are just a few spaces available on certain days. Pick up available all days at Pierce and some days at Coolidge Corner School and Lawrence. (Because we try to create a balance with ages we need to look at this too while enrolling.)

Cities and Maps class visiting the Mapparium and Boston's Victory Garden
We ate berries, edible flowers, peppers and beans and drew plants at Boston’s Victory Garden. We discussed urban development. We visited the Mapparium, ran under the sprinklers by the Pru and had a picnic! A fun packed day!

Liana returns from the Big Apple to teach this class!
Create maps and miniature cities. Using materials such as cardboard, string, boxes, and wood, we will design dioramas and miniature buildings-- and of course different maps to go with our creations! We'll take a look at architects, sculptors and city planners who have made the cities we live in. Includes a field trip to Boston's Mapparium as well as a trip to Fenway’s Victory Garden to draw and enjoy the beauty!
